Fraudulent E-mail and Phishing Alerts

The following are a list of reported fraudulent e-mails appearing to come from AT&T. This page is updated each time we become aware of a scam or phishing attempt involving our customers.

How can you help?

If you receive a suspicious e-mail that is not already listed below, please let us know about it by forwarding the e-mail to: scam@abuse-att.net For information on how to forward a potentially fraudulent e-mail to AT&T, please click here. This document contains important guidelines which will help us be most effective.

If you receive a suspicious e-mail:

Do not respond with any information and do not click on any links or otherwise visit any websites offered in the e-mail.

Tips from the Federal Trade Commission on Phishing Scams:

  • If you receive an e-mail claiming your account will be shut down unless you reconfirm your billing information, do not reply or click any links in the e-mail. Instead, contact the company in question via phone or a web site you know to be genuine.
  • Avoid e-mailing personal and financial information. Before submitting financial information via a Web browser, look for the lock icon on the browser's status bar. This signals that your information is secure during transmission.
  • If you believe you've been scammed, file a complaint at http://www.ftc.gov and visit the FTC's Identity Theft Web Site at http://www.ftc.gov/idtheft to learn how to minimize your risk of damage from identity theft.
  • For more information on phishing scams, see How Not to Get Hooked by a 'Phishing' Scam.
